Self taught through experimentation, an artist vision, and hands on execution, Kate Towers creates non-seasonal one of a kind clothing as well as a limited edition seasonal line.
From its conception in 2000 until spring of 2007, Kate was co-founder and owner of seaplane, a renowned specialty shop in Portland featuring local designers and an intriguing collection of hand-made clothing. It is there that Kate developed her own line and helped to inspire the fashion scene that is now Portland.
Before re-locating to Portland in 1998, Kate studied illustration and fine arts at The New England School of Art and Design in Boston.
All items are hand made on location at Kate's studio in limited quantities.
“Romantic and fanciful with just a dash of the rock n’ roll nasties, Kate Towers creates clothes fit for sassy, gypsy librarians who live alone in old lighthouses and like to drink tea laced with gin. Or just those of us who aspire to a similar lifestyle.” -FRANKIE MAGAZINE issue 31
